My my oh how we’ve changed
My my fell in the trap that they made
All I ever asked of you
Was to treat me like I treat you
No mind games
My my remember the games we played
Oh how did this slip into our way
Running round in circles
Avoiding each other’s vision
It’s a real shame
Oh is this how it’s to be
Another generation of happy families
I thought we’d learn
I thought we’d try
To never leave anyone on the outside
My my you’ve always been the same
Walk on by nose to the sky
Back straight
How’s it you’re the funny one
But when it comes to me
The humours long gone
You can come of course you can
As long as you leave
The appropriate gap
Oh is this how it’s to be
Another generation of happy families
I thought we’d learn
I thought we’d try
To never leave anyone on the outside
Golden
You are Golden
Golden
You are Golden

New Year's Day
04:10
|
|||
It was late December when
I came waltzing through
The Clock Face door
I had just learned how to be
Alone without a crowd
And then I saw
You standing in a circle of our friends
Telling stories making absolutely no sense
It was only New Year’s Day
When you said you’d like to stay
And see me more
Took me to the Crofters then
Picked me up and took me back
From where you came
I cried all the way back home
Wondering if you’d leave me learning
How to be alone
Told you that I loved you most
Told you that we had to go outside for this
Obviously it couldn’t wait
Obviously it was fate to tell you now
Outside of the Barkers Brewery
Smoking Marlborough’s, drinking doubles
Before we quite out jobs for music
And lost all our money
Kissed as I fell on the stair
Wasn’t sure if you’d hit me there by mistake
I was worried you would run
When the party ended
And New Year begun
If only I’d known then what I know now
I can’t get rid of you however hard I try
‘Though I wouldn’t want to
I like to pretend
In the middle of the circle
Surrounded by our friends

Butterfly
05:27
|
|||
Although you can’t see him
Can’t you feel him?
He’s right there by your side
So if you’re ever feeling lonely
Just look up into the sky
He’s wrote your name there in the stars
To prove he knows exactly where you are
We don’t always feel so happy
We don’t always feel so glad
So if you’re ever feeling down
Just follow the butterfly
And every ache and pain you feel
Will be replaced by your sense of hopes and dreams
We don’t always feel so happy
We don’t always feel so glad
Here I am in my own little dream
Where no one believes
That pain and disease are necessary
We don’t always feel so happy
We don’t always feel so glad
And I know it’s hard to say goodbye
To the one you love
When they die
But you know he loved you just the same
You can feel it, read it in his eyes
And the love you feels forever girl
And so through you he’ll always be alive
Here I am in my own little dream
Where no one believes
That pain and disease are necessary
Here I am in my own little world
Where heartbreak’s no concern
‘cos it is not considered to teach us lessons
We don’t always feel so happy
We don’t always feel so glad
We can’t always see the stars my girl
But we don’t always feel so bad

Night Time
03:32
|
|||
All words left unspoken
Opportunities missed to speak out
Dreams so close in the future
Have now fell into a pit of doubt
Silent voices overpowering
As we argue what’s best for this time
It’s all you can ever listen to
Unable to switch off your mind
It’s fine in the night time
Sleep cures a busy mind
But as soon as the sun shines
It returns
It’s fine in the night time
When sleep is on your side
It’s fine in the night time
Enough warnings have been given
To make you listen this time
Keep kicking off, don’t settle in fright
You’re more than you’re making now
It’s fine in the night time
Sleep cures a busy mind
But as soon as the sun shines
It returns
It’s fine in the night time
When sleep is on your side
It’s fine in the night time
It’s fine in the night time
It’s fine in the night time

The Drive
04:46
|
|||
Wherever I wonder,
Whatever chances I take
I’ll always return to hear
The jokes I have missed
I’ll stand on the hill top
And watch the sun set
A beautiful sight in an unfortunate place
We drive, we drive
Back to the drive
Turn left where the Quiet Man stood
Whose stories sounded like lies
But you’d be surprised
If you want me to talk
Give me some respect
Were the first and the last words
I heard from the man himself
I still see him walking
Down the old lane
If we knew where to and from
The mystery would fade
We ride, we ride
To the top of the drive
To reassert who is in charge
By who is the fastest to reach
The give way mark
You hit the nail on the head
When you said
There’s no place
Like the place that we know
You said I’d plead to move back here
When I decided I wanted to go
Oh, where the Christmas lights shine
More brightly than anywhere you’ll ever know
We smile, we smile
As we remember the time
You dreamed that you lay on the wall
You lied it wasn’t your dream at all
We smile as we remember the lines
We sang before David arrived
And do you still perch on the kerb
As a 25 year old girl
Turn left where the Quiet Man stood
Don’t stop ‘til you reach the top
My father will wave
Wherever I wonder
Wherever I go
I’ll always return here
This is my home
